I got some rejections today and when I told Hiram Rodriguez about it and being disappointed, he said, “Nah, you don’t want to work at those places anyway. You’ll land something better.”

When I started to bring up my same worries, he shook his head. “I know you want the search to be over and that you’re tired, but you will find something better.”

Yesterday we celebrated six years of marriage. Tack on six years of dating prior to engagement and we’ve been together going on 12 years. Today, like every day, I am reminded of why we have been together for so long. He’s always been in my corner, keeping me motivated, reminding me not to dwell too much on a perceived loss because after all... Haven’t I always found something better?
